New Decks!
My sister’s visiting, and we’ve been off on a few adventures including spending the weekend in Salem (where we stayed in the Hawthorne Hotel’s most haunted room!). Along the way, I picked up some new decks from my favorite shops, and a few I ordered directly from the authors just arrived. Now, I’ve got a whole stack to dive into, including:
- Purchased Directly from Author:
- Soul Trees Oracle Cards (Alyson Williams-Yee)
- Purchased at Hive and Forge, Salem, MA:
- Dark Days Tarot (Wren McMurdo Brignac)
- The Mushroom Hunter’s Arcanum (Joe Buckley)
- Song of the Grandmothers Oracle (Kara Simmons, Mari in the Sky)
- Purchased at Emporium 32, Salem, MA:
- How to Read Tea Leaves (by Claire Goodchild, Polly Fern)
- Purchased at Roost & Company, Salem, MA:
- Animal Allies Birds (Jessica Swift)
Hey friends! I’ve been busy updating the site this past week (it’s a long, long process to add the 400+ Tarot and Oracle decks in my collection to the site), so I wanted to give you the rundown on what’s new. If you’re into deep-dive tarot reviews, quick deck overviews, or just want to stay in the know about counterfeits (ugh, they’re everywhere), here’s what’s up:
New Deep-Dive Reviews
I got four new in-depth reviews (with deck pictures!), including:
- First Aid for Broken Hearts Tarot by Nonara – A soft deck that takes the gently surreal and uses it to help guide the soul through the grief of heartbreak. But… Does it use AI…?
- Margarete Petersen Tarot – Okay, this one is deep. Like, really deep. Abstract, dreamlike, and full of layers to unpack. And that art? Each brushstroke reveals a whole new level of mystery.
- Orchid Valley Tarot by Merry M – Ghosts. Whimsical forests. Rich colors. Cozy vibes. What else does a deck need? Other than a guidebook and tips on how to avoid the overwhelming number of bootleg listings…

New “At-a-Glance” Deck Listings
Not in the mood for a full review? Just want the basics? No problem. I added quick-reference listings for these decks:
- Tarot Gallimaufry
- Tinseltown Tarot
- The Black Violet Tarot
- Crystal Skull Tarot
- Outsider Tarot
- Wanderer’s Tarot (Midnight Edition)
- Rackham Tarot
- Wayhome Tarot
- Gourmet Tarot II (Red Edition)
- The Shining Tribe Tarot (Definitive Edition)
- Tarot de Maria Celia
- Circle of Doors Tarot
These are perfect if you just want a quick rundown on structure, art style, and general vibe without committing to a full review. Thanks to a glitch, the pictures on the articles were deleted, but I plan on re-adding them by Wednesday.
Counterfeit Alerts
Not the fun part, but important to know—there are some bootleg copies floating around:
- Gourmet Tarot II – If you see it super cheap, be suspicious. The fakes are out there and starting to dominate the market. Stick to buying from Tevada and the author/publisher.
- Orchid Valley Tarot – Yep, it’s already getting bootlegged. It’s only sold by two places (the author and Tevada and Tevada is sold out as of now) so if you see it on any other website (even Amazon or Walmart) and/or it’s under $30… Sorry, it’s probably fake.
I’ll keep updating the counterfeit list as I hear more, but as always—if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
That’s the latest! Let me know if there’s a deck you’re curious about, and I’ll add it to my ever-growing list. I’m hoping that the project will really get cracking after April 1st.
Until then, happy adventuring!
